Dianne Pridgen, Principal

Mrs. Pridgen is a veteran educator. She has taught all grade levels at the elementary level. In 1986, she was named as Teacher of the Year for Wilson County Schools, North Carolina Region Three Teacher of the Year, and finalist for North Carolina Teacher of the Year. As a school level administrator, Mrs. Pridgen has served as an elementary and middle school principal. She was named Wilson County’s Principal of the Year in 1993. Additionally, Mrs. Pridgen has served as the K-12 Curriculum Director for Western Heights in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Pridgen states that one of her greatest joys is being a part of the Forestville Family. She believes that “effective teaching and successful learning” go hand in hand. As the principal of Forestville Road Elementary, she is dedicated to helping every child achieve success
.

Mrs. Pridgen's most memorable moments at Forestville have been kissing a pig, getting wet in the dunkin booth and impersonating Hanna Montana! Also, she is extremely proud of the academic achievment of students as they soared to success in reading, mathematics, and science as documented by state and federal accountability standards.

Okrika Harold, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Harold has always wanted to work with children ever since she was in middle school. Her first career choice was to be a nurse and work in the pediatric ward. Mrs. Harold enjoyed being in nursing school but when she started her clinical work in hospitals, she couldn’t see nursing as the career for herself.

Mrs. Harold's love for wanting to help children be the best they can be influenced her to change her major from nursing to education. She received a B.S. and M.S.A in education from Norfolk State University.

Mrs. Harold has spent over 10 years in learning best practices in education. Her experience in teaching ranges from kindergarten through sixth grade. One of her most rewarding teaching experiences in education was when she co-taught a fourth and fifth combination class with a special education teacher.

Mrs. Harold was thrilled to be a part of the Forestville Road staff when the school opened in August 2004. In 2006, she became the Assistant Principal of Forestville Road.

Forestville Road Elementary is a wonderful school! Mrs. Harold takes pleasure in working with the staff, students and families. By everyone working together, we have achieved great success over the years. Forestville Road is the home of the “Falcons,” and “Where Education takes Flight!”

A Message From the Principal

Dear Forestville Road Family,

Welcome back to school! We anticipate a wonderful year of quality learning opportunities at Forestville Road Elementary School! Whether you are a returning student or coming to our school for the first time, we are glad you will be part of our learning community. With your support, we will continue to be a school “where education takes flight” for every Forestville Road student.

The outstanding Forestville Road staff recognizes that each child will bring unique talents to schools. We are dedicated to developing these talents by offering challenging learning activities tailored to meet individual needs. In order to achieve this shared educational purpose, we are prepared to work collaboratively with students, parents, and community members.

We welcome and encourage your involvement at Forestville Road Elementary. Joining the Forestville PTA is a great show of support for our school. PTA President Marion Horton will send information about the many ways parents can be involved at our school. Whether assisting on a special project such as the Outdoor Learning Classroom or volunteering for a PTA committee, we appreciate your commitment to our students’ success. Additionally, you will receive information from Vanessa Allen, guidance counselor, about volunteer opportunities in classrooms, media center, field trips, and other special student activities.

Every member of the Forestville family (students, parents, and staff) is an important part of our learning community. We look forward to a successful year for students, parents, and staff.
