Kindergarten

Welcome to Kindergarten at Forestville Road Elementary! We are excited about our new school year, and we look forward to working with you and your child. Our kindergarten program is designed to provide activities that nurture the child's physical, mental, social, and emotional growth.

Staggered entry is a transition activity aimed at helping to ease your child’s transition into kindergarten. Each kindergarten child will come for one full day during the first week of school. Smaller group sizes allow teachers and assistants to offer individual attention and support as children try new things. An informal assessment is integrated into the day through play activities. This assessment, along with observations over the first few weeks of school will allow us to plan your child’s instruction.

Your child will attend school only one day during August 25-28. He/she will work with a team of teachers that day in a typical classroom setting. The kindergarten teachers will send a letter through the postal service to let you know the one day your child will come to school.

If you ever have questions about your child's progress, please contact your child's teacher. Once again, welcome to kindergarten! We look forward to the great experiences we will share this year.

Cool Links

A great deal of thought and time has gone into choosing sites that are intended for student use. However, with the rapidly changing nature of Web sites and the World Wide Web, there is always the possibility a student can run into inappropriate material. For this reason we stress the need for parental guidance when students are exploring the World Wide Web. Please remember that Forestville Road Elementary has no control for the ever-changing content of Web sites linked from this site.
