WFAL

Lights! Camera! Action! WFAL is our school television station. At 9:15, the fifth grade students are responsible for delivering the morning news. They announce the weather, lunch menu, student birthdays, staff birthdays, and other important information.

Students submit an application and then interview for positions on the News Crew. The first crew members are trained by FRES staff. Then, each subsequent Crew trains the upcoming Crew - so students are training their peers on their positions.

STAR Kids

Students Teaching About Resources

The STAR Kids are in charge of the "Feed the Bin" program. "Feed the Bin" is a recycling and environmental education program. The STAR Kids recycle every Tuesday to keep the school from overflowing with papers. The Trash Talk booklet is used in the classrooms to teach everyone what to recycle and what not to recycle.

The STAR Kids also participate in the Christmas parade, the FRES math night, and the annual Health Fair. They also perform experiments and create energy posters about ways to save energy.
